Well here’s something new! On Thursday 14th June, Brompton introduces their ’48 invitational race which will be held at the P&P World Cycling Revival, a three day cycling festival at the Herne Hill Velodrome in London.
48 riders – carefully chosen by Brompton – will be riding 2 elimination-style heats. The remaining 24 will then battle it out in the ‘grand finale’. Amongst the competitors you can expect a mixture of road and track cyclists, a couple of the fastest riders from the Brompton World Championship as well as some special guests (like David Millar).
All competitors will be riding on theCHPT3 Brompton, a limited edition bike that features special colors, titanium componentry, ergon grips, special Kojak Schwalbe Tan-wall tires… the works.
Show me the money!
Now what’s in it for the winner I here you say? Well, nothing less than a whopping 10.048 GBP, an amount greater than the 1st place winner of any UCI World Championship Road race would win.
This should be reason enough to secure one of the limited places in this exclusive race that will be left open for ‘lesser gods like yours truly’. Now do I have the credentials to race? What do you think?! The only thing left for me to do is convince my friends at Brompton that I definitely earn my spot amongst the 48 riders.*
